Alex Deringer and Courtney Cox combine their formal training in design and fashion with their renowned sense of style in Ivy Lane, a full-service interior design firm that curates casually elegant family dwellings that are elevated by a unique spark. Whether an entire house renovation or a one-room makeover, Alex and Courtney’s extensive experience and collaborative dynamic inform a successful design philosophy: thoroughly understand the client’s lifestyle, bring a thoughtful spatial perspective, and enliven the space with the freshest aesthetic interest.
Ivy Lane’s aesthetic perspective can now be shopped. Tucked away in a charming brick courtyard in Old Town, Alexandria, Virginia, a boutique and design studio are open to the public. With a thoughtfully selected, ever-changing offering of Alex and Courtney’s very latest, very favorite things, Ivy Lane Living is a must-visit boutique for that oh-so-perfect find. On offer are antiques and new pieces (here customers can see and feel the quality of Ivy Lane’s custom private-label upholstered furniture), beautiful pillows, a rotating display of works by inspiring artists, unique new and vintage home accessories, and one-of-a-kind treasures sourced from estates and antique dealers across the country. Custom linens for bedding, tabletop, and bath in an array of colorways complement any décor, with vintage tableware and a selection of hostess gifts sure to please also available.
The Ivy Lane Living design studio hosts periodic Artist & Artisan Trunk Show events to introduce customers to noteworthy creators and their works (please sign up for the newsletter for event invitations). And seasonally, Fridays from 10a-2p Margaret Bush will be on-site creating her beloved Artful Arrangements from the most beautiful market-fresh flowers. Pre-orders welcome.
Selected favorites from each store will soon be available online.
